Important updates

We are writing to inform you of an important change regarding your hearing care. After careful consideration, the decision has been made to permanently close the Cochlear Hearing Centers (CHC) in Houston and San Antonio, effective December 31st, 2026. The clinics are expected to remain available for patient care through December 18th, 2026; however, this timeline may be modified based on operational capacity. Should any adjustments become necessary, you will be informed as soon as possible.

The CHC clinics were originally established to address a critical need for specialized implant services. Over time, recipient needs and access to care have evolved, changing the role these clinics were created to serve. As we make this transition, our focus remains dedicated to supporting your hearing journey and helping ensure you have access to the resources and care you need moving forward.

Schedule Any Needed Appointments

  • We will see recipients through December 18th, 2026. Should any adjustments to that date become necessary, we will communicate them promptly.
  • If you need to be seen by our team before that date, please contact your Cochlear Hearing Center as soon as possible to schedule an appointment.

Future Care

  • We are currently finalizing the process for ongoing care coordination and medical record transfers. A second communication with additional information will be distributed in the coming months.
  • If you would like to proactively identify a hearing healthcare provider for your future care needs, Cochlear's Clinic Finder can help you explore options in your area. Please visit: www.cochlear.com/us/en/connect/find-a-clinic
